Huawei P30 Pro Vs P30

Both models from Huawei are the successor of P20 and P20 Pro. The Huawei P30 replaced the P20 while P30 Pro had taken over the stunning P20 Pro. Huawei has launched two amazing smartphones in the P30 series but you may be thinking about Huawei P30 Pro vs P30: what are the differences between them? Is P30 Pro the more upgraded version of P30? To answer these questions, we are going to compare both devices so you can find the difference between them.

Huawei P30 Pro Vs P30: What are the similarities?

Before we are going to see their differences, let’s first look at the features which are the same in both smartphones. Both Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro features the same Kirin 980 chipset along with the same software and user-experience.

Moreover, both of them have waterdrop notches at the top of their displays as we see in the OnePlus 6T. They also contain in-display fingerprint sensors and the same 32-MP cameras.

The design and shape of P30 and P30 Pro are also made of metal frames sandwiched between glass panels. Along with the design, we also need to talk about the colors, you can buy both of the devices from five different available colors. These are Black, Breathing Crystal, Pearl White, Aurora, and Amber Sunrise. The Huawei P30 Pro deals are available.

What are the differences between Huawei P30 and P30 Pro?

Above we have seen that both models are identical in their chipset, cameras, software, design, and colors. But there are many differences which we are going to discuss.

Display

The Huawei P30 Pro has a larger 6.47-inch OLED display than P30 which comes with a 6.1-inch screen. Moreover, the display of the P30 is flat while P30 Pro features a curved display. The edges of the P30 are a bit sharper than the P30 Pro If you see them carefully.

Both of them have the same OLED display panels with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and the same number of resolutions which is 2340 x 1080.

Hardware

As we have already discussed that both P30 and P30 Pro contain the same Kirin 980 processor. But when it comes to RAM, the P30 Pro leads the way around. The P30 Pro has 8GB of RAM while P30 has 6GB and the Pro model also comes up with a larger battery. The Huawei P30 has 3650mAh of battery capacity, while the P30 Pro features a larger 4200mAh battery.

The Huawei P30 Pro comes up in three different storage variants 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. But P30 is only available in 128GB in the market. If you are out of mobile storage and want to save more data, don’t worry, both have the support of a Nano Memory Card of up to 256GB for more space.

The wireless charging is not available in P30 but Huawei P30 Pro has this premium feature. The P30 Pro delivers 40-W fast charging along with 15-W wireless charging while P30 gives a decent 22-W fast charging.

Camera

One of the main differences between both smartphones is in their cameras. The P30 contains a triple camera arrangement while P30 Pro features a quad camera lens system.

The P30 has the same camera options as in Mate 20 Pro, it has a 40-MP main camera, 16-MP ultra-wide sensor, and an 8-MP telephoto zoom lens which offers 3X optical zoom, 5X hybrid and digital zoom of up to 30x.

In the four rare cameras setup, the P30 Pro has 40-MP of the main sensor, 20-megapixels ultra-wide lens, and a 8-megapixels zoom camera which provides 5x optical zoom and up to 50x digital zoom. The Huawei P30 Pro has an additional Time of Flight sensor for improved depth mapping and better bokeh effects.

Headphone Jack

Another major difference between both mobiles is the audio system. The P30 contains a 3.5mm headphone jack while the P30 Pro has a USB-C port.

Right above the display top, there is a regular earpiece speaker in the Huawei P30. On the other hand, the Huawei P30 Pro features acoustic display technology which transmits phone calls audio through the screen.

Size

The sizes of both devices are also different from each other. The size of the P30 is measured as 149.1 x 71.36 x 7.57mm and its weight is 165g.

While the P30 Pro comes up with a bigger size and screen display, its size is 158 x 73.4 x 8.41mm and also heavier than P30 with 192g of weight.

Which one should you buy?

Definitely, the P30 Pro is far better than the P30 model. It comes up with a more enhanced camera, more RAM and storage, a larger display, and a bigger battery. The P30 Pro is no doubt better but the differences between P30 and P30 Pro are not as much as those were in P20 and P20 Pro.

The P30 is the device that comes up with top flagship features and contains excellent camera functionality. But the winner of the list without any second thought is the P30 Pro with all of its more additional and advanced features. If you need a better overall experience, then the P30 Pro is the smartphone for you.
