What Are StarCraft 2 System Requirements?
Since the performance of Starcraft 2 is based on the specification of your gaming PC, the very first job is to determine what computer hardware it contains. If you require assistance, please see our step-by-step instructions below.
When you know what specs your gaming PC has, you can equate them to Blizzard’s official minimum and suggested requirements to play Starcraft 2. We’ve included a list of them below for your convenience. If any component falls short, you might need to make modifications of the weakest part, but considering the game’s age, you’re probably good to carry on. It can also be a great fun to use StarCraft 2 cheats codes in single-player campaigns to complete the missions.
StarCraft 2 Details
- Release Date: July 27th, 2010
- Genre: RTS (Real-time Strategy Game)
- System Requirements: Low
- Developer: Blizzard Entertainment
- Publisher: Blizzard Entertainment
Starcraft 2 is the follow-up to the real-time strategy famous Starcraft, and it takes the venerable series into the 21st century with a required visual and gameplay overhaul, and also a new plot along with a few new features.
The single-player mode in Starcraft 2 is exciting, and it takes place 4 years after the events of the Starcraft expansion Brood War. Players take on the part of Jim Raynor yet again as he battles the nefarious Terran Dominion.
Starcraft 2 stands tall, though, when we talk about playing competitive multiplayer mode, the same as its ancestor. Players take on the roles of humanoid Terrans, psionic Protoss or alien Zerg, each with their own technological advancements firearms. Heart of the Swarm, Legacy of the Void, and Nova Cover Opts are three large additions for Starcraft 2 that add hundreds of new single-player missions, all dedicated to a particular species.
Other than its era, Starcraft 2 is still a popular eSports game with a large following of supporters and frequent players who help to fuel a thriving multiplayer environment where players will have no trouble finding willing opponents.

Suggestions For The Better Hardware For Starcraft 2
Since it’s more than a decade out of date and belongs to the moderately challenging RTS category, Starcraft 2 is fairly tolerant on new hardware, and expectations are that your system can easily exceed the minimum requirements. In the unlikely chance that this isn’t the case, the minimum requirements will still provide a solid 30+ FPS at 1920×1200 with medium settings.
According to the recommended specs, at 2560×1600 with extreme settings, you can get above 60 FPS, while turning it down to high will significantly increase the FPS rate. In several situations, lower resolutions on ultra positively surge through 60 FPS, so bear that in mind too.
As previously mentioned, Starcraft 2 could work smoothly on any modern computer, so there’s not much I can say in terms of practical advice or drawbacks to prevent.
Recommended Gaming PC
The suggested requirements are a perfect one to begin and hint at the better Starcraft II possible experience. If I had to guess, I’d suggest the following system to get the most from the game:
- CPU: Intel Core i5
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
In terms of actual setups, I recommend builds just around $300 and $400, but then again, you’ll have more processing power than you’ll need for Starcraft II. In the end, I must say that a PC suitable for Starcraft II can be purchased or built for a reasonable price. A low-cost gaming computer would also serve.
