We all have been buying the products of our needs on e-commerce
sites but have you ever wondered how it works? In this blog, we will discuss
the working of e-commerce sites with an example.

There is a guy who wants to buy shoes to gift
his friend but he doesn’t have time to go to market so he turns on his laptop
to order the shoes. While he was ordering the shoes his web browser was
communicating back-and-forth over the Internet with a Web server that was
managing the store’s website.

After he finalized the product, the webserver
sent his order to the order manager, which is a central computer that looks
over the order through every stage of processing from submission to dispatch.
The order manager then reaches out to the database to know if the product
ordered by the boy is in stock or not.

In case the product is not in stock, the stock
database system will place an order for the product being asked by the customer
to the wholesalers or the manufacturers. This might include the communication
with the order systems that are placed at the headquarters of the manufacturer
to know the estimated supply times as the customer is still sitting at his
laptop to place the order.

After receiving the asked information back
from the stock database system, an expected delivery date is suggested when the
supplies will be received from the manufacturer or the wholesaler. As the order
manager continues to assume that the product is in stock it carries on by
processing it. After this, it communicates with a merchant system to take the
amount using the customer’s credit or debit card number.

The merchant system then does some extra
checks with the customer’s bank computer to process the payment. And once the
bank computer confirms that the customer’s account is having enough funds the
merchant system allows the transaction to go ahead. The funds do not completely
get transferred until several days later.

After all this, the order manager verifies
that the transaction has been successfully processed and informs the Web
server. The customer then sees a web page saying that the order he placed has
been confirmed and the transaction has also been completed.

Now when the order has been successfully
placed and the amount has been received the order manager sends a request to
the warehouse asking to dispatch the product ordered to the customer. The
dispatching company then collects the order and delivers it to the customer.

As the delivery step is important for the sellers selling out the products online, there is shipping software for small businesses. The shipping solutions software helps the sellers to deal with the safe delivery of the ordered product to the customers. This software makes it easy for sellers to deal with the delivery task.

[117

post-3195","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-technology
["GET
